January 2013--this was our second photo tour with Roy Toft. The photography was definitely challenging but again, so rewarding. The diversity is incredible, and it is simply a beautiful place. We spent our time on the Osa Peninsula at the Bosque del Cabo ecolodge, then at the Lookout Inn to photograph scarlet macaws. Both were wonderful places with amazing animals and surroundings. I can't wait to go back.

Leaf cutter ants on a tree outside of our cabina. I like the narrow depth of field in this shot; I think that it gives emphasis to how hard these guys are working.
A golden orb spider, so named because of the gold shimmering web they weave. They are everywhere in the rainforest, and they are big!!

The wing of a dead butterfly. I was inspired by Rob's beautiful shot of the wing of a blue morpho. You can see that life is hard for these creatures by all of the marks.

I am not sure of the name of this guy, but he was a big one!!
Poison dart frog. We were practicing macro techniques and he was behaving pretty well for us. We also saw these guys in the forest on the brown leaves--they definitely stood out.
Playing with the depth of field. Macro is a challenge!
