Silvered Langur

Silvered Langur

Almost immediately upon our arrival in Bako we came upon a group of silvered langur monkeys feeding in the mangroves. We were able to follow them along the beach for quite a while. They are commonly seen among the coastal mangroves and feed on the leaves, flowers, and seeds of these trees. The adults are dark gray with some grayish-white hairs that gives them a silver appearance. There is also a reddish morph of this species which we were able to see in Kinabatangan.
